Overview
To gain commitment and momentum for the wellbeing agenda, the senior teams in NHS North of Tyne and Newcastle City Council championed the first Wellbeing and Health Summit on 15 January 2010.
A key aim for the day was to educate partnership leaders about wellbeing in the city, and the various components that contribute to wellbeing – from the area you live in to the information available to you. Slides and content from these sessions and workshops are available below.
Running alongside the summit itself, a Wellbeing and Health Marketplace was established. Participants browsed ‘stalls’ for information about the varied range of partnership initiatives aimed at improved at wellbeing. This Marketplace was also open to other staff and volunteers in partner organisations. Stalls were ‘topic-based’ (e.g. 'Healthy Settings', which included healthy workplace, healthy schools, healthy communities) rather than partner-based, so partners could work collaboratively to develop and run the stall.
A key output from the marketplace was a series of pledges made by participants, commiting to improving wellbeing and addressing health inequalities. Why not take a look at all this information below?
Our thanks goes to all those involved in making the day such a success.
