What we do together?

We are responsible for leading the work of the Wellbeing and Health Partnership and making sure it achieves its overall aim of making sure adults live long, healthy, happy lives.  We also lead Newcastle's work in relation to being a World Health Organisation (WHO) Designated Healthy City.

We work together to understand adult wellbeing and health in the city alongside national requirements and use this understanding to prioritise what the partnership should be doing.

We then make sure the right structures are in place to take forward the priorities.  This may take various forms:

  • acknowledging that one partner organisation is already leading the work
  • establishing Strategic Boards or delegating to existing ones; or
  • joint working arrangements with other parts of the Newcastle Partnership

We keep an overview of existing work and manage the Wellbeing and Health Partnership’s relationships with key players.

We are also responsible for making sure that the Wellbeing and Health Partnership has:

  • good quality governance
  • good strategy and delivery processes
  • the resources it needs to manage and develop its work

For further information on our role, please see our Terms of Reference.

The groups that help us

You can read separately about each of the Strategic Boards we have established using the links.

In addition, we have established the following Delivery Groups:

  • Partnership Communications Group who are responsible for making sure that:

    • that partner organisations and their staff/volunteers are fully aware of the work undertaken in partnership around adult wellbeing and health
    • best use is made of available public communication routes to highlight the work of the partnership and its partners
