Don't just take our word for it...

Although the links below take you to our formal definitions of terms such as 'wellbeing', our definitions come from policy makers' or researchers' perspectives.  These don't always reflect what these terms mean to the people whose lives we are trying to improve.

For this reason, at the start of 2010, as part of the preparations for the Wellbeing and Health Summit, we distributed postcards across the city asking people to let us know: "What does wellbeing mean to you?".  We hope that the responses will help illustrate what we are trying to achieve through our work in these 'real' terms.

Mythbuster materials

What's in a word?  We all use words such as health, wellbeing, health inequalities, and health improvement - but have you ever stopped to think about what is meant by them - and whether others mean the same thing? We are in the process of developing a range of Mythbuster materials to help build a common understanding.
