What we do together?

We strategically lead the work to improve the mental health and emotionally wellbeing of adults in Newcastle.  To do this we work to ensure we have a shared understanding of local need in relation to adult mental health drawing on statistical information; research; and, stakeholder feedback.  We are responsible for two sections in the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment:

  • Emotional and mental wellbeing
  • Adults with long term mental health needs

For further information on our role, please see our Terms of Reference.

The groups that help us

We have established the following Delivery Groups

  • Prevention and Mental Health Promotion.  This group works on our behalf to plan and deliver a range of individual community interventions with the overall aim of ensuring that adults and mentally and emotionally healthy and can deal with significant life changes and challenges
  • Social inclusion and recovery.  This group works on our behalf to plan and deliver a range of individual and community interventions with the overall aim of ensuring that adults with mental health needs contribute to and are included in their communities; are engaged in employment, volunteering, education or training; and, can find and stay in a suitable home
