What we do together

We are working in partnership to reduce the harm caused by alcohol to individuals, children, families and communities.

Our strategy 'Safe Sensible and Social in Newcastle Upon Tyne' outlines in detail how our delivery partnerships will tackle the harm caused by alcohol misuse.

We work together to make sure that the right services are in place so that Newcastle is a healthy and safe place to live, work and visit.

Our work is guided by four outcomes:

  • People of all backgrounds and all ages are empowered to engage in informed decision making about their alcohol use
  • People have excellent, quality, appropriate alcohol treatment and care, if needed and their families and carers have access to high quality help and support from dedicated services
  •  People live, work and enjoy themselves safely free from the fear of experiencing alcohol related crime or anti social behaviour
  •  All partners work together creatively prioritising and tailoring resources to reduce the harm caused by alcohol

Action PlansThe Alcohol Strategy Board has been working to deliver revised action plans which are Outcome focused and SMARTer in approach.  These draft action plans have been put together with input from many partners and agencies and communities.  We welcome your feedback and will try to incorporate this where possible as the plans evolve across the next 18 months.  These action plans are live flexible documents that will allow us to be responsive to the needs of people living in Newcastle.  Click on any of the links below to access these plans:
