Young people from Eldon Green and representatives of Newcastle’s Drug and Alcohol User and Carer forum met with members of the board as an opportunity to develop thinking around the new action plans.

The session began with everyone filling in their personal shields which enabled everyone to share something about themselves.

  • Favourite Music
  • Worst T.V. programme
  • Best thing about the city of Newcastle
  • Something I have done that I am proud of

The group then split up into three mixed groups to do speed dating style work shops.

Three tables were set up with different topics:

Everyone had an opportunity to discuss their ideas and add them to flip charts and map of the city centre.  This information has been collated on the separate documents attached above.  The Board will be able to use the information as part of the consultation process on the Action Plans.

The session ended with everyone using the talking stick to share how they felt about being involved and what they liked best about the session.

There was a very positive feeling about the session and a need expressed to continue the dialogue as per the Partnership Action Plan.

A BIG thank you to everyone who gave up their valuable time to participate.
